Iron in dust over Beijing

In a survey of dust particulates in Beijing, researchers from the China University of Geosciences detected significant amounts of elemental iron, which they say is caused by industry and the wearing down of light and heavy vehicles in Beijing proper. However, in an article published in Chinese Sciences Bulletin, they emphasize that the dust does not pose a significant health risk.
